Everything you need to know about dermatology in the UAE

What requirements must I fulfil as a dermatologist in order to practice in the UAE?

To work as a dermatologist in the UAE, you need a licence to practice from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). This requires, among other things:

  • A university degree in dermatology
  • At least two years of professional experience
  • Translated and notarised documents
  • Possibly a specialised test in English

We will help you compile all the necessary documents and guide you through the entire process.

Can I bring my own devices from Germany?

Yes, but there are restrictions. Not all devices are approved in the UAE and there may be differences in power connections and technical standards. We can advise you on the selection and procurement of the right devices.

How long does the DHA authorisation process take?

The time frame varies depending on the complexity of your case and the communication between the authorities. It usually takes between 4 weeks and 6 months. We optimise the process to complete it as quickly as possible.

What does it cost to open a dermatology practice in the UAE?

The costs depend on the type of facility:

  • Small practice: From approx. 100,000 AED
  • Day clinic: From approx. 500,000 AED
  • Complete clinic: Several million AED

We prepare a detailed cost estimate that is customised to your needs.
